WLT STEAAM Experience for Girls: Architecture Challenge
Classes are scheduled to commence in January, with additional information to be furnished to the chosen students. The program will accommodate a maximum of 30 girls, running from January 13th to April 27th, 2024. These classes will be held on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Exciting News! Women Leading Technology was featured on the national syndication Good Morning America. Now, we're thrilled to introduce our 2nd 12-week WLT STEAAM Experience for Girls Architecture Challenge, tailored for girls from Pre-K to high school. This captivating educational journey unfolds from January through April, offering young minds the opportunity to explore the foundations of architecture while acquiring essential skills in finance, project management, leadership, and more.
In this project, girls will collaborate in three teams, each tasked with designing and constructing life-sized playhouses measuring 4 feet (w) x 4 feet (l) x 5 feet (h). Throughout the process, they'll become proficient in industry-standard architectural design software, creating blueprints, floorplans, elevations, roofing, and much more. Under the guidance of our Lead Female Architect, Kim Nickerson, who is actively involved in the field, the girls will receive real-time insights and mentorship.
We understand the significance of financial literacy for children, and that's why we've seamlessly integrated financial management into this comprehensive 12-week program. As they make choices about building materials, the girls will also benefit from valuable lessons delivered by an industry leader. The victorious team in this challenge will earn scholarships for each team member, empowering them to pursue their STEAAM education in college.
Students will be required to actively engage in a Double Good Popcorn fundraiser with the target of raising at least a minimum of $600. Of the funds raised, Double Good will contribute 50% to WLT, which will be utilized to offset tuition fees. Tuition Cost is $1200 per student for 12 weeks. Tuition includes all materials and lunch is provided. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

WLT 2nd Annual Grinchmas at Grandscape
Women Leading Technology is thrilled to bring you the "WLT 2nd Annual Grinchmas at Grandscape" - a fantastic Family Festival and Movie Day! It's all about celebrating the holidays outdoors and, at the same time, giving back to the community by supporting WLT's mission of empowering girls through our WLT STEAAM Experience for Grls.
Mark your calendars for December 16, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This event is tailor-made for families and friends, offering an awesome chance for everyone to learn about Women Leading Technology, our mission, and our incredible sponsors. Plus, it's a whole lot of fun with local vendors, fun activities for the kiddos, a movie under the open sky at the Grandscape Stage while paying it forward to Hope's Door New Beginnings, Toys for Tots and The Family Place.
And guess what? You can grab a bite and your favorite drinks from local restaurants and the movie theater will have concessions for purchase before the movie and take a with none other than the Grinch himself! We may have a another surprise guest but you have to be there to see who it is.

The WLT STEAAM All-Girls Architecture Challenge - The Big Reveal!
Women Leading Technology Presents The WLT STEAAM Experience All-Girls Architecture Challenge Auction. We invite you out to the Big Reveal! Our girls from Pre-K through high school designed and built custom 4FT x 4FT x 5FT playhouses in teams.
WLT's invited you to come out to bid on these custom-built playhouses. Proceeds go towards scholarships and the continuation of our architecture programs for the girls.
